Tunisian Travelers Can Now Buy Their Travel Stamps Online
Tunisian travelers can now purchase their travel stamps online, without having to go through airport counters or administrative offices. This measure, which came into effect after the digitalization of the service by the Ministry of Finance, aims to streamline formalities and reduce waiting lines at borders.
In practice, the electronic travel stamp, which remains fixed at 60 dinars, is accessible via the official platform e-timbres.finances.gov.tn. After paying online, the traveler receives a unique 16-digit identifier, sent by SMS or email. This code, valid for six months, replaces the physical stamp and can be directly verified by border authorities thanks to the interconnection between the Ministries of Interior and Finance.
Travelers still have an alternative: the travel stamp remains available at Tunis-Carthage Airport for those who prefer to purchase it on-site. Another novelty is that in case of non-use, a refund is now possible within a period ranging from one month after purchase to the expiration of its validity.
