The fourth edition of the Sharjah Arabic Poetry Criticism Award has awarded the First Prize to Tunisian poet and academic Fethi Nasri for his Arabic-language study on autobiographies in contemporary Arabic poetry, according to the Ministry of Cultural Affairs.
This recognition, notes the Ministry, consolidates Tunisia's intellectual, cultural, and creative potential, as well as the international influence of our prominent literary figures.
This year's edition, themed "The Convergence of Literary Genres in Contemporary Arabic Poetry," awarded three Arabic literary critics: Fethi Nasri (First Prize), Iraqi critic Ahmed Jar Allah Yassin (Second Prize), and Moroccan critic Ibrahim El Graoui (Third Prize).
Established in 2020 under the auspices of the Department of Culture in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (UAE), this annual award aims to promote modern Arabic poetry and its critical analysis across the Arab world, offering international recognition to researchers and literary critics, as well as broad visibility for the awarded works.
