Simplification of Vehicle Tax Payment in Tunisia
Starting from the beginning of next year, paying the vehicle tax in Tunisia will become simpler and entirely accessible online. A new platform will be made available to citizens to settle their tax from the comfort of their own homes, while still maintaining the option for physical payment at finance revenue offices.
After online payment, each motorist will be able to obtain an electronic receipt containing a QR code. This document will serve as proof during roadside checks and will enable agents to immediately verify that the tax has been paid. Payment can be made by bank card or via the electronic e-Dinar card, regardless of the type of vehicle or the amount of tax.
Aziza Ben Salem, Director General of Public Accounting and Recovery at the Ministry of Finance, emphasizes that this system aims to simplify procedures for citizens and make tax management more efficient. This initiative marks a significant step towards the digitization of public services in Tunisia.
