Exceptional Transport Program for Eid al-Adha 2024

According to a statement, the Ministry of Transport, in coordination with national and regional land transport companies, as well as professionals in the public transport sector, has implemented an exceptional program for the benefit of citizens, as part of the preparations for Eid al-Adha 2024.

Program Duration

The program will run from Friday, June 14, to Wednesday, June 19, 2024, aiming to improve the transport offer and adapt it to the expected demand by increasing the availability of the fleet and reinforcing human resources, as well as ensuring rigorous organization and monitoring to guarantee smooth travel conditions.

Program Measures

1. National and Regional Land Transport Companies

  • Authorized to operate additional trips on all their lines and other lines according to demand.
  • The national interurban transport company and regional transport companies will ensure:
    • 4,600 regular trips
    • 1,400 additional trips, representing a 30% increase compared to the usual total offer, broken down as follows:
      • National interurban transport company network:
        • Regular trips: 520 trips
        • Additional trips: 210 trips
      • Regional transport company networks:
        • Regular trips: 4,080 trips
        • Additional trips: 1,190 trips

2. Tunisian Railway Company

  • Prepared a program including:
    • Reinforcing train compositions with 78 additional cars, in addition to the usual cars.
    • Programming 45 additional trips, in addition to the 84 regular trips.

3. Non-Conventional Transport for Persons

  • Exceptionally, "Louage" taxis are authorized to operate trips across the entire national territory, without being limited to their usual operating zone, from Friday, June 14, to Wednesday, June 19, 2024.

4. Monitoring and Organization

  • Teams of inspectors from the Ministry will monitor and follow up on the program in land transport stations, Tunisian railway stations, and "Louage" taxi stations across the country.
  • Coordination offices have been set up at the General Directorate of Land Transport and regional transport directorates to organize and monitor the campaign.
