Warning to Tunisians Living Abroad: Avoid Importing Plants or Vegetation
The Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources, and Fishing invites Tunisians living abroad to avoid importing plants or vegetation that may carry insects or pathogens that could cause significant damage to the national agriculture. This warning comes in a context of increasing diseases and invasive pests on a regional and international scale. According to a statement published on Wednesday by the Ministry, this precaution aims to protect food security and preserve agricultural sectors, which are an essential pillar of the national economy. Travelers entering Tunisia through all border points are also requested to refrain from introducing plants or vegetation into the national territory, in order to limit the risks to the agricultural sector.
