Ministry of Agriculture Warns Farmers of Heavy Rainfall and Snowfall
The Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources, and Fisheries recommends that farmers take all necessary precautions to protect their livestock, agricultural machinery, and equipment by placing them in areas away from watercourses.
According to forecasts from the National Meteorological Institute, heavy rainfall is expected on Friday, January 17, 2025, primarily in the north and northwest of the country. Local precipitation levels could reach 80 mm in the northwest, with significant snowfall in the governorates of Kasserine, Le Kef, and Siliana. A gradual decrease in the intensity of these weather disturbances is expected from Saturday, January 18, 2025.
Mariners are also advised not to take risks and not to venture out to sea, and to take all necessary precautions until weather conditions improve.
It is worth noting that the regional commissions for the prevention of natural disasters in Béja, Jendouba, and Kasserine have cancelled the suspension of classes in schools due to weather conditions.
