Morocco's Driouch Province to Become New Industrial Hub
The Driouch province in Morocco (in the Oriental region of Morocco) is set to become a new industrial hub with the launch of construction work on the largest tire manufacturing complex in Africa. The project is being led by the Chinese group Shandong Yongsheng Rubber, through its local subsidiary Goldensun Tire Morocco, and represents an investment of 6.7 billion dirhams.
Project Details
- The site will span 52 hectares and will have the capacity to produce 18 million tires per year
- The complex is expected to create approximately 1,740 direct jobs, contributing to the economic development of the region
- The construction of the factory, scheduled to be completed by early 2027, will also include research centers and modern logistics facilities for export to international markets
