Creation of a Joint Venture for AI-Powered Healthcare Infrastructure
The Mohammed VI Foundation for Science and Health (FM6SS) and ABA LIFE, the healthcare division of ABA Technology, have announced the creation of a joint venture dedicated to developing healthcare infrastructure based on artificial intelligence and digital technologies. The goal is to support the modernization of the Moroccan healthcare system by integrating digital solutions into research, diagnosis, and care organization.
Objectives and Deployment
According to the information released by the two parties, this new structure aims to deploy its first intelligent healthcare solutions as early as October 2026 in Morocco, before gradually expanding to other African countries. The project seeks to connect medical research, clinical practice, and technological innovation within the same ecosystem. In practice, the platform intends to intervene across the entire healthcare chain, covering:
- Artificial intelligence research applied to medicine
- Development of telemedicine
- Biosurveillance
- Emergency management
- Support for startups specializing in digital health
Transformation of Medical Practices
The project is based on a deep transformation of medical practices. A significant part of this effort involves training healthcare professionals in artificial intelligence tools, with the announced goal of training over 100,000 practitioners. Telemedicine is also expected to play a central role in reducing access times to care and extending medical coverage. Beyond hospitals, the joint venture also aims to structure an industrial ecosystem around health technologies.
Key Initiatives
The development of local solutions, creation of patents, and support for HealthTech, MedTech, and Biotech startups are presented as levers to strengthen innovation and reduce technological dependence. The joint venture's initiatives are designed to:
