Morocco has taken a significant step forward in modernizing its urban transportation system with the acquisition of 1,317 buses, distributed across Tangier, Agadir, and Marrakech.
This project, part of a national strategy aimed at transforming urban mobility by 2030, takes on particular importance as the country prepares to co-host the FIFA World Cup with Spain and Portugal. These buses will play a crucial role in preparing for this major event.
The total investment, estimated at 10 billion dirhams (approximately $1 billion USD), benefits from collaborative financing involving the Ministry of the Interior and local authorities. By 2029, the program plans to deploy 3,500 buses across 32 Moroccan cities.
Beyond the World Cup, this initiative is part of a sustainable vision to improve urban mobility and the daily lives of Moroccan citizens.
