The Kia PV5 Cargo, the brand's first fully electric light commercial vehicle, has recently achieved a Guinness World Record by traveling 693.38 km (430.84 miles) with a maximum payload of 665 kg on a single charge of its 71.2 kWh battery. This feat was accomplished on September 30, 2025, during a test on public roads near Frankfurt, Germany.
The Record-Breaking Journey
The 58.2 km route was completed 12 times in real-world traffic conditions, including traffic lights, intersections, dense traffic, and a 370-meter elevation change per loop. The challenge highlighted not only the vehicle's energy performance but also its robustness and efficiency while carrying a maximum payload. The record attempt was strictly supervised by TÜV Hessen and buck Vermessung inspectors, who verified compliance with weight and safety standards.
