Saudi Group Acwa Power Commits to Accelerating Green Hydrogen Projects in Tunisia

The Tunisian government, led by Head of Government Ahmed Hachani, received Marco Arcelli, General Director of Saudi group Acwa Power, at the Government Palace in Kasbah on Friday, May 31, 2024. The meeting marked the signing of a partnership agreement between Tunisia and the Saudi conglomerate for the production of green hydrogen.

The ceremony was attended by Minister of Industry, Mines, and Energy Fatma Thabet Chiboub, Secretary of State for Energy Transition Wael Chouchane, and President of the Tunisian Union of Industry, Commerce, and Handicrafts (Utica) Samir Majoul.

During the meeting, the Head of Government highlighted the strong historical ties between Tunisia and Saudi Arabia, emphasizing the importance of strengthening these relations through this agreement, which aims to develop green hydrogen projects in Tunisia. He reiterated the Tunisian state's commitment to producing alternative energies, considering it a key strategy to address current climate challenges and ensure the rights of future generations.
