Gica Obtains ISO 9001 v2015 Certification for Quality Management System
The Group of Food Canning Industries (Gica) has obtained the ISO 9001 v2015 certification for its quality management system. This certificate was awarded during a ceremony held on Monday, October 7, at the headquarters of the Tunisian Union of Industry, Trade, and Handicrafts (Utica), in the presence of the Minister of Industry, Mines, and Energy.
The ceremony, which brought together several personalities from the industrial sector, aimed to reward Gica's efforts in the areas of technical assistance, training, commercial development, laboratory management, and physico-chemical and bacteriological analyses.
The Minister praised Gica's commitment, highlighting the importance of the food canning sector to the Tunisian economy, particularly through its exports, which represent 25% of total production, with revenues of 336 million dinars.
This sector comprises 133 production units, which have transformed one million tons of agricultural and marine products into 193,000 tons of canned and semi-canned goods.
Founded in 1956, Gica is one of the oldest professional groups in the country, playing a key role in coordinating production processes and facilitating exchanges between professionals and public authorities.
