German Industrial Group Zollner Elektronik Invests Over 51 Million Dinars in Tunisia

The German industrial group Zollner Elektronik, a European leader in the manufacture of electronic components, has announced an investment of over 51 million dinars in Tunisia, in a high-tech project located in Novation City, Sousse. This announcement was made during a meeting held on April 16 between the Minister of Industry, Mines, and Energy, Fatma Thabet Chiboub, and a delegation from the group led by Markus Aschenbrenner, a member of the board of directors.

The new project, which will span 11 hectares, aims to create around 3,400 jobs by 2030, according to Markus Aschenbrenner's statements. It is part of the group's growth strategy in North Africa, with a focus on advanced technologies in the fields of automotive electronics, aerospace, and digital industry.

The Minister welcomed this initiative and reaffirmed her department's commitment to strengthening German investments in Tunisia, particularly in innovative sectors. She also highlighted the ongoing efforts to position Tunisia as a strategic industrial platform in the Mediterranean, especially among major multinationals.

Established in Tunisia since 2007, the Zollner group currently has two production units, in Béja and in the Sousse industrial zone, covering 2,100 and 2,500 square meters, respectively. The Tunisian site represents the group's only foothold in Africa, reinforcing Tunisia's role as a regional industrial hub.

With 25 subsidiaries worldwide and over 13,000 employees, Zollner Elektronik is today the leading provider of electronic manufacturing services (EMS) in Europe. This new project in Sousse marks an important step in its development on the African continent.
