LAPP Group Inaugurates Research and Development Center in Tunisia
A New Era of Technological Innovation
The German group LAPP has inaugurated a research and development technology center in Tunisia, launched by the Minister of Economy and Planning, Samir Abdelhafidh, on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. The center currently employs around thirty young Tunisian engineers and executives, with plans to expand to 150 people by next year.
Location and Objectives
Located in Sousse, this center will develop technological solutions for the group's clients worldwide. The Ministry of Economy considers this establishment as a strong signal of confidence in Tunisian skills, particularly in innovation and new technology-related fields. According to the statement, the German group also plans to create a production unit in Tunisia soon.
Support from Tunisian Authorities
The Tunisian authorities have expressed their willingness to support the project in all its stages, especially the future industrial phase. During his speech, the Minister highlighted that launching a research center before a production plant will allow for the formation of a solid base of local skills. He also emphasized Tunisia's main advantages for attracting foreign investment, including qualified human resources, geographical position, and stability.
