Environmental Engagement and Opportunities in Clean Technologies Take Center Stage at Connex Event
During the 2nd edition of Connex, the event highlighted striking figures regarding environmental engagement and opportunities in the field of clean technologies.
Among them, a notable 27% reduction in carbon emissions since 2010 was emphasized, reflecting a significant commitment to combating climate change. However, speakers stressed that to achieve ambitious environmental goals, massive funding is required, with an estimated $14 billion needed between 2010 and 2030 to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 45%.
Despite these significant financial needs, funds dedicated to environmental impact remain largely underutilized, raising questions about the effectiveness of existing financing mechanisms.
Speakers explained that most startups are not oriented towards environmental solutions, making it difficult for them to secure funding. On the other hand, speakers indicated that there is funding available, but they are waiting for startups to take action and tap into the expansion potential in this field within the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
