The Tunisian Song Festival (FCT) Unveils its 2025 Edition

A Vibrant Celebration of Tunisian Music and Culture

The Tunisian Song Festival (FCT) is set to take place from March 8 to 11, 2025, at the Cité de la Culture Chedly Klibi. Before the event, a vibrant pre-opening will take place on Friday, February 28, starting at 3 pm, with simultaneous concerts in all 24 governorates of the country, under the slogan "Tunisia Sings".

During a press conference held at the Théâtre des jeunes créateurs, the organizers revealed a rich and diversified program. The festival will open with the musical psychodrama "Imagine" by Karim Thlibi, followed by three major competitions:

  • "Songs": 13 selected works
  • "Maâzoufets": 10 instrumental compositions in competition
  • "Individual Free Interpretation": three exceptional voices in competition

These participants, selected from 149 applications, include both promising young talents and recognized artists from the Tunisian and Arab scenes. Among them, singer Chokri Bouzayen will participate with a work written by Hatem Guizani and performed by himself.

In preparation for the festival, Open-Mic concerts will take place on Habib Bourguiba Avenue in Tunis and in major squares across the regions. These performances will be animated by music conservatories, under the supervision of the music and dance direction, in partnership with regional cultural delegations.

A special meeting is also scheduled for March 6 at Ennejma Ezzahra to discuss the future of Tunisian song, bringing together artists, composers, and arrangers.

The FCT will pay tribute to its iconic figures from its early days. Najet Attia and Nawel Ghachem will animate the evenings of March 9 and 10, while Nabiha Karaouli will close this 23rd edition accompanied by the symphony orchestra conducted by Mohamed Bouslama. The orchestra accompanying the candidates in the three competitions will be directed by Youssef Belhani.

The prestigious festival prizes include:

  • Golden Microphone: 40,000 dinars
  • Silver Microphone: 30,000 dinars
  • Bronze Microphone: 20,000 dinars

Other prizes will reward the best interpretations, instrumental compositions, and the public's favorite.

To encourage reflection and improvement for future editions, a meeting-balance titled "The Festival and After?" will take place on March 13, aiming to open the way to new perspectives.

Finally, the official visual, created by artist Bader Klidi, features a young girl in traditional attire playing the lute on Habib Bourguiba Avenue, symbolizing Tunisia's musical and cultural heritage.

With this ambitious program, the Tunisian Song Festival 2025 promises to be a vibrant celebration of Tunisian music and culture.
