A financing agreement worth approximately 101 million Tunisian dinars (10 million Kuwaiti dinars) was granted to Tunisia during the annual joint meetings of Arab financial institutions in Cairo. The agreement, signed by the new Minister of Economy and Planning, Feryel Ouerghi, and Bader Mohamed Al-Saad, Director General of the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD), aims to contribute to the implementation of the Integrated Agricultural Development Project (IADP) in the Oued Tessa basin, located in the Kef governorate.

This ambitious project comprises several essential components, including:

  • Protection of agricultural lands against erosion
  • Optimal management of agricultural water
  • Prevention of flooding in vast plains
  • Promotion of forest development
  • Improvement of rural infrastructure
  • Provision of potable water
  • Valorization of agricultural systems and value chains
  • Stimulation of entrepreneurship in the agricultural sector, with a focus on small-scale projects that create wealth and sustainability.

This project is expected to have a significant impact on the region's agricultural development and economic growth.
