U.S. Dollar Breaks 3 Tunisian Dinar Threshold on Interbank Market

The U.S. dollar surpassed the 3 Tunisian dinar mark on the interbank market on October 6, 2026. According to data from the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT), this level had not been reached since May 16, 2025.

This move reflects a steady appreciation of the greenback against the dinar. As of October 2, the dollar was still trading at 2.9967 dinars. At the end of September, it stood at 2.9775 dinars, up from 2.9194 dinars just one month prior. Consequently, the pace of depreciation for the dinar has accelerated over recent weeks.

By the end of July, the dollar was valued at approximately 2.9375 dinars, with the dinar having already lost 1.3% of its value against the dollar since the start of the year, according to BCT data. By the end of June, the decline had reached 2% compared to the end of 2025. The BCT publishes daily exchange rate data on its economic and financial data portal.
