Competition Council Condemns Several Banks for Anti-Competitive Practices

The Competition Council has condemned several banks for engaging in anti-competitive practices, as defined in Article 5 of Law No. 36-2015 on the reorganization of competition and prices. The infractions primarily concerned the application of excessive profit margins on deferred loans during the coronavirus crisis, exceeding a total amount of 142 million dinars.

The Council has ordered the cessation of these harmful practices that undermine competition. Furthermore, it has dismissed a complaint filed against other banks.
