Chinese Group Jiangsu Aishelun Launches Construction of Medical Consumables Factory in Morocco

The Chinese group Jiangsu Aishelun Medical Technology Group has launched the construction of a medical consumables factory in the Mohammed VI Tanger Tech City, in northern Morocco. This project represents an investment of around 20 million euros, approximately 151.75 million dirhams, and primarily targets the European, Middle Eastern, and North African markets.

Key Features of the Project

  • The new industrial unit is part of a large-scale export strategy, dedicated to the production of basic medical devices such as medical protections, adult diapers, and urinary bags.
  • The factory is expected to reach an annual capacity of 150 million medical protections, 72 million adult diapers, and 10 million urinary bags.
  • The project is being developed on a 60,000 m² site, with over 31,000 m² of built-up area dedicated to production units, logistics spaces, and administrative offices.
  • Construction is scheduled to take around one year, with a gradual ramp-up of production over two to three years.

Strategic Location

The location of the factory in Tanger Tech is strategic, situated near the Tanger Med port, which has become an important hub connecting Europe and Africa, facilitating exports and strengthening Morocco's attractiveness to foreign industrialists.

Alignment with Morocco's Industrial Vision

This project is also part of Morocco's industrial vision, which aims to diversify its economy beyond traditional sectors such as automotive, textiles, and aeronautics. The goal is to strengthen the country's presence in higher-value-added industries, particularly in the medical device sector.

Confirmation of Morocco's Positioning as a Regional Industrial Platform

With this new investment, Morocco confirms its growing positioning as a regional industrial platform, while the Chinese group continues its international expansion by strengthening its production and distribution capacity to several key markets.
