New Export Support Program for Tunisian SMEs and Startups

In a context where Africa is emerging as one of the most dynamic markets for Tunisian companies, the Centre for Export Promotion (Cepex) is launching a new support program for ambitious young structures. Called "Start Export By Cepex", this program aims to help Tunisian SMEs and startups overcome the hurdle of exporting and establish a strong presence in African markets.

Supported by the Qawafel Project

The program is supported by the Qawafel project, implemented with the support of the French Development Agency (AFD) and Expertise France. It is part of a clear strategy to train a new generation of Tunisian exporters capable of approaching African markets with method, strategy, and knowledge of the terrain.

8 Months to Develop an Export Strategy

The program will run for 8 months, during which selected companies will benefit from comprehensive support, including personalized coaching, expert workshops, and the development of a customized export strategy for each project. The goal is to enable participants to master the fundamentals of international trade, including market research, product positioning, offer structuring, identification of local partners, and preparation for commercial prospecting.

Immersion in Target Markets

In addition to training, the program also includes a concrete dimension of immersion in target markets. Selected companies will have the opportunity to participate in "Go to Market" missions organized in three strategic African countries: Senegal, Kenya, and Mauritania. These trips will allow entrepreneurs to test their offer on the ground, meet potential partners, understand local dynamics, and refine their implementation strategy.

A Program for First-Time Exporters

The program is primarily aimed at Tunisian SMEs and startups that want to start their first international experience. Targeted companies are those whose export turnover does not exceed 20% of total turnover, i.e., structures that are still at the beginning of their international journey. Innovative and creative projects will be particularly encouraged, with the aim of promoting high-value-added products that can differentiate themselves in African markets.

How to Apply?

The call for applications will be officially launched on Thursday, March 12, 2026. From this date, interested Tunisian SMEs and startups will be able to submit their application to join the first cohort of the "Start Export By Cepex" program.
