Great News for Tunisians Who Want to Move to Canada

The Canadian government, as part of its 2024-2026 prospective regulation plan, is set to introduce a major change to the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations.

The proposed modifications would include the introduction of a new permanent economic class for workers with experience in the Training, Education, Experience, and Responsibilities (FÉER) categories 4 and 5. These changes are expected to improve opportunities for workers in targeted professions to transition to permanent residence, allowing them to continue contributing to the local economy and supporting businesses with labor market needs in these fields.

In other words, this concerns professions that typically require a high school diploma or on-the-job training of several weeks. Examples include child caregivers, retail salespersons and display decorators, as well as jobs that require short-term work demonstrations and no formal education, such as landscaping laborers and delivery drivers.

With the growing number of young people, and even adults, planning to leave the country, there are great opportunities for those who do not have a particularly high level of education to find a path to secure their future. For Tunisia, our economy will pay dearly in a few years due to the lack of labor.
