Akumplast Opens First Unit in Tunisia, Marking a Significant Step in North African Expansion

Akumplast, a Bulgarian company specializing in technical plastics, has inaugurated its first facility in Tunisia. Located in the Zriba industrial zone, Zaghouan, this plant will manufacture plastic cases and battery housings to meet the growing local demand.

This new site represents a significant milestone for Akumplast. The company aims to get closer to the Tunisian market and plans to expand to neighboring countries. With an investment of 3 million dinars, Akumplast hopes to strengthen its presence in North Africa and create local jobs.

Since 1985, Akumplast has specialized in plastic battery housings and lead-acid battery accessories. Listed on the Bulgarian stock exchange, the company is a major player in the sector.

Hristin Nikilov, Executive Director of Akumplast Jsc, is optimistic about the development in Tunisia. The company has already formed three teams and plans to contribute to the growth of the automotive component industry in Tunisia, thereby enriching the local value chain.
