STAR Insurance Company Achieves Net Profit of 21.317 MTND in First Half of 2025
The Tunisian Insurance and Reinsurance Company (STAR) has reported a net profit of 21.317 MTND for the first half of 2025, primarily driven by the strong performance of its Life Insurance division.
Life Insurance Division
This division generated premiums written and accepted of 30.344 MTND, while related investment income reached 5.703 MTND. Claims remained stable, with net claims expenses of 6.873 MTND, and the establishment of technical provisions followed a progression in line with business growth. These factors enabled the Life Insurance division to achieve a technical result of 11.608 MTND, representing a 42.3% year-over-year increase.
Non-Life Insurance Division
The Non-Life Insurance division returned to positive territory, with a technical result of 0.934 MTND. The division's total revenue stood at 220.599 MTND. Claims expenses remained relatively stable at 147.527 MTND, while investment income reached 39.758 MTND.
Segment Breakdown
In terms of segments, Auto Insurance remains the primary source of profitability, with a technical result of 21.245 MTND. In contrast, Group Insurance recorded the largest technical loss at -12.377 MTND, followed by Fire Insurance (-4.713 MTND) and Miscellaneous Risks (-2.816 MTND).
Operational Developments
On the operational front, STAR has completed its migration to its new Sage ERP system, a key step that is expected to improve internal organization and the quality of service offered to clients. The company is heading towards a good year, and investors should not be concerned about their upcoming remuneration.
