APIA Approves 19.6 Million TND in Agricultural and Fishing Projects Across Bizerte, Manouba, and Sfax

The National Committee for Granting Benefits, affiliated with the Agency for the Promotion of Agricultural Investment (APIA), convened on Tuesday for its eighth ordinary session of 2026. The meeting resulted in the approval of a series of projects in Bizerte, La Manouba, and Sfax, totaling an envelope of 19.6 million Tunisian dinars.

According to the agency, this funding will be exclusively allocated to strengthening maritime fishing fleets and improving agricultural yields—two sectors that APIA continues to prioritize this year.

Dedicated Support for Young Rural Entrepreneurs

The Committee’s actions extended beyond supporting existing farms. It also approved a line of subsidized land credits amounting to 337,800 dinars, intended for young entrepreneurs to finance the acquisition of agricultural plots in the Kef and Kasserine governorates. The total area covered is 14.2 hectares. This mechanism is designed to permanently anchor a new generation of farmers in the country’s inland regions.

For young agronomy graduates and rural project developers, this type of subsidized land financing remains one of the few accessible pathways to agricultural ownership. Meanwhile, in the fishing and agricultural sectors in Bizerte, Manouba, and Sfax, equipment suppliers and technical service providers must closely monitor the execution of these projects, which often generate local orders in their wake.
