National Water Supply Company Prepares for Summer 2026

The CEO of the National Water Supply and Distribution Company, Abdelhamid Mnaja, announced that the company has begun preparing a program to ensure the supply of drinking water during the summer of 2026.

Key Measures to Ensure Water Supply

During a working meeting chaired by the Secretary of State to the Minister of Agriculture, in charge of Water, Hamadi Habaieb, Mnaja specified that:

  • Trucks and tractors equipped with water tanks have been mobilized to provide drinking water to residents.

Upcoming Projects and Initiatives

By summer 2026, 76 projects will be operational, benefiting 125,000 people. Regarding agriculture, a quantity of water has been allocated for the irrigation of strategic crops such as potatoes and fodder crops.

Emphasis on Coordination and Maintenance

The Secretary of State emphasized the importance of:

  • Effective coordination between different stakeholders
  • Regular maintenance of infrastructure
  • Preparation of pumping stations to avoid breakdowns during the summer period A detailed plan for drinking water supply must be submitted to him before the end of October 2025.
