Tunisia's RFR Line D to Launch on January 25, 2025
The Minister of Transport, Rachid Amri, announced on Mosaïque FM that the D line of the Rapid Railway Network (RFR) connecting Tunis to Gobâa will be operational starting from January 25, 2025. This new line features seven stations, seven pedestrian bridges, some of which are equipped with elevators, as well as several works of art, including bridges and underground tunnels for vehicles. The goal is to improve mobility in Greater Tunis through modern and accessible infrastructure.
After more than two weeks of testing that began on January 3, the launch was delayed due to the complexity of integrating the existing railway lines, including a train line to Algeria and another for goods transportation to Bizerte. Additional equipment was installed to ensure safety and communication between trains, according to Lotfi Chouba, CEO of the Tunisian Rapid Railway Network Company.
