Study Highlights Importance of Immigrant Workers for German Labor Market
A study by Bertelsmann reveals the crucial role of immigrant workers in sustaining the German labor market in the long term.
By 2040, Germany will need to welcome around 288,000 foreign workers each year to meet its labor needs.
Between 2041 and 2060, the country will still require an average influx of 270,000 migrant workers per year.
The study predicts that without new migration flows, Germany's active population could decline from 46.4 million to 41.9 million by 2040, a drop of around 10%.
