Algeria has introduced a new digital service allowing citizens living abroad to submit their biometric passport renewal applications online. The announcement was made on June 24 by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Interior, as part of the modernization of consular services and the digital transformation of the administration.

The deployment begins at the Algerian Consulate General in Paris, one of the most sought-after consular posts by the Algerian community abroad. The authorities plan to gradually extend this service to all diplomatic and consular representations of the country, after an evaluation phase.
