Tunisian Parliament to Discuss Loan Agreement with African Development Bank
The Assembly of People's Representatives (ARP) will convene in a plenary session to examine Bill No. 84-2024, dated September 10, 2024, regarding the approval of a loan agreement signed between Tunisia and the African Development Bank (AfDB). The loan aims to finance a program designed to enhance the competitiveness of Tunisian enterprises and improve citizens' purchasing power, particularly through job creation.
It is worth noting that during its meeting on January 30, 2025, the ARP Bureau reviewed the various reports from the committees on finance and budget, strategic planning, sustainable development, transportation, infrastructure, and urban planning.
It is essential to recall that this €80.16 million loan (approximately 264.94 million Tunisian dinars) was granted to Tunisia by the AfDB to support the third phase of the Road Infrastructure Upgrade Program. With a total cost of €86.21 million, this project benefits from co-financing by the Tunisian government amounting to €6.05 million.
