Tunisia and World Bank Sign €96.1 Million Financing Agreement to Strengthen Higher Education
The Ministry of Economy and Planning and the World Bank have concluded a financing agreement worth €96.1 million, approximately 319.3 million Tunisian dinars. This financing aims to support a project to reinforce higher education in terms of innovation, resilience, and employability improvement.
The agreement provides for a repayment period of 28 years, including an 8-year grace period.
On the sidelines of his participation in the third day of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund spring meetings, Samir Abdelhafidh met with Ethiopis Tafara, Vice President of the World Bank. He praised the established cooperation between Tunisia and the financial institution, particularly in strategic sectors such as renewable energy, public-private partnerships, and business climate improvement.
For his part, the World Bank Vice President reaffirmed the institution's commitment to deepening this collaboration, emphasizing priority areas for Tunisia through tailored financial support and technical assistance.
