National Plan Activated to Prevent Seasonal Flu and Respiratory Infections
The Ministry of Health has activated a national plan to prevent seasonal flu and respiratory infections, as cases are on the rise in several countries. Under the direction of Health Minister, Mustapha Ferjani, the technical commission in charge of preventing flu and acute respiratory diseases met to assess the situation in Tunisia and worldwide.
Key Measures
The commission has decided to:
- Reinforce surveillance in hospitals and laboratories to quickly detect flu cases, including imported cases or those related to avian flu
- Expand the vaccination campaign, particularly for the most vulnerable individuals
- Provide medical staff with training to better diagnose and respond to cases in the field
Public Awareness Campaigns
To prevent the spread of flu and respiratory infections, public awareness campaigns will be launched to remind people of preventive measures, including:
- Regular hand washing
- Wearing a mask when symptoms are present
- Avoiding crowded areas
By taking these measures, the Ministry of Health aims to prevent the spread of seasonal flu and respiratory infections, and to protect the most vulnerable members of the population.
