Ministry of Commerce and Export Development Launches Exceptional Program to Improve National Coffee Supply and Regulate Market
The Ministry of Commerce and Export Development has announced the launch of an exceptional program to improve the national coffee supply for family consumption and regulate the market, in response to recent supply tensions.
This measure came into effect at the beginning of the week, following the decisions made during the meeting of regional commerce and export development directors, held on Monday, July 7, 2025. A new distribution strategy was put in place to more effectively meet the needs of consumers nationwide.
The program includes:
- Weekly allocated quantities distributed through usual channels, managed by the Tunisian Trade Office's digital application.
- Additional volumes distributed proportionally according to each region's specificities, prioritizing roasting units that commit to supporting local supply.
- Direct allocation of additional quantities to the country's large commercial surfaces, increasing coffee availability in organized sales points.
The Ministry emphasized that this program is part of a broader approach to ensure regular supply, strengthen the offer in all regions, and preserve market stability to meet consumer needs under good conditions.
In parallel, roasting units, particularly smaller ones, are invited to express their interest in integrating this system. They can submit their requests to the regional commerce and export development directorates or the Tunisian Trade Office centers.
