A significant number of ambassadors, diplomatic mission chiefs, members of the UTICA executive bureau, representatives from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Commerce, and Agriculture, as well as donors such as the United Nations Development Programme, the Arab Organization for Education and Science, and the Arab Organization for Migration, attended the event.

In her speech, Fatma Thabet emphasized that the olive tree is a symbol of civilization and prosperity, holding a special place in Tunisia's Mediterranean heritage. The profession of olive oil production has been passed down from generation to generation, making it a cherished tradition.
Tunisian Olive Oil Expands Its Global Reach
Tunisian olive oil has strengthened its presence in several international markets, but the country aspires to achieve more and gain new perspectives and markets. Diplomats, international partners, and economic actors have played a crucial role in promoting the high added value of Tunisian olive oil and affirming its quality as a distinctive product on global markets, thereby stimulating exports and attracting new markets.
Production and Export Figures
The production of olive oil for the 2024-2025 season is expected to reach approximately 360,000 tons, while 195,000 tons were exported during the 2023-2024 season to 60 countries, generating an estimated revenue of 5 billion dinars. Additionally, 40,000 tons of organic olive oil were exported in response to the growing demand for bio products.
Tunisia Establishes Itself as a Leading Exporter of Organic Olive Oil
The Minister declared that Tunisia has established itself as the world's largest exporter of organic olive oil, thereby enhancing its competitiveness in major markets such as Europe and North America. She attributed this success to the global recognition of the quality of Tunisian olive oil.
Promoting Tunisian Olive Oil Abroad
To counter global competitiveness, the Minister announced that the Technical Center for Packaging and Conditioning has prepared a promotion program for 2025 in coordination with all concerned parties to reinforce the position of Tunisian olive oil on foreign markets. This program aims to strengthen the Tunisian signature of olive oil in cans on traditional foreign markets and to better promote the Tunisian origin while diversifying export markets.
Showcasing Tunisian Olive Oil Brands and Recipes
The reception featured various Tunisian olive oil brands, tasting sessions, and cooking demonstrations with diverse recipes using olive oil, contributing to its identification as an essential ingredient in Tunisian and Mediterranean cuisine.
