Resilient, Sustainable, and Inclusive Agriculture Investment Project Launched in Tunisia

The "Resilient, Sustainable, and Inclusive Agriculture Investment Project in Tunisia" (Ardii-Tunisia) was launched yesterday in Tunis.

The project aims to combat climate change and reduce its threats to agricultural production.

With an estimated cost of $224 million, the Ardii-Tunisia) project is the result of the support given by the Platform for Agricultural Risk Management (Parm) to the Tunisian government in strengthening the country's capacity to manage agricultural risks (initiated in April 2023).

According to Parm, this investment instrument will enable the reinforcement of the resilience and sustainability of Tunisia's agricultural sector in the face of increasing climate and economic risks.

This 15-year project targets the most vulnerable zones and actors, including rainfed cereal farmers, small olive growers, as well as rural women and youth, through a progressive approach.

The launch workshop brought together funders and technical and financial partners to present the project's components and financial structure, with a view to mobilizing the necessary resources for its implementation.
