Inauguration of El Ouardia Public Library
The Minister of Cultural Affairs, Amina Srarfi, inaugurated the El Ouardia public library on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, in the presence of ministry officials and the regional delegation of Tunis.
Project Overview
The project, launched in March 2024 with the demolition and reconstruction of the site, was completed in June 2025. The library spans 530 m² of covered area, with a total surface area of 830 m². It features:
- A reading room for adults
- A children's area
- A multimedia room
- An archive space
Visit and Activities
On site, the minister visited the various spaces of the library and learned about the cultural activities offered to users. The teams presented the main programs designed for the public.
Minister's Statement
The minister emphasized the need to offer modern services adapted to the expectations of young people, teenagers, and children, who are increasingly drawn to digital technology. She highlighted that libraries must today meet the challenge of remaining attractive and accessible.
