Tunisia Takes Top Honors at European International Olive Oil Competition
Tunisia has emerged victorious, claiming the top spot at the third edition of the European International Olive Oil Competition (EIOOC), organized by the Swedish group Global International Olive Oil Competitions (GIOOC), held from April 22 to 24, 2025, in Geneva, Switzerland, surpassing Greece and Spain.
According to Raouf Choukat, President of GIOOC, Tunisia swept a total of 79 medals, including 56 gold medals for quality, 19 gold medals for healthy oil, and four silver medals, solidifying its position as one of the world's leading producers of extra virgin olive oil.
Choukat added that Tunisia was followed closely by Greece, which took second place, and Spain, which secured third place.
A total of 13 countries participated in this competition, including Spain, Greece, Turkey, Italy, Algeria, Jordan, Morocco, Libya, Portugal, Croatia, the Sultanate of Oman, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan.
The international jury comprised 12 experts from Tunisia, Spain, Greece, Italy, Argentina, Turkey, and Algeria.
This prestigious win further cements Tunisia's reputation as a major player in the olive oil industry, and its commitment to producing high-quality, healthy olive oil.
