Tunisia Exports 30,017 Tons of Organic Olive Oil Worth $411.2 Million

Between January and March 2025, Tunisia exported 30,017 tons of organic olive oil, valued at 411.2 million dinars. According to data from the Onagri, this represents approximately 19% of the country's total olive oil exports, both in volume and value. However, these figures must be nuanced by a significant drop in the average price: 13.70 dinars per kilo for organic olive oil, compared to 26.66 dinars the previous year, a decline of nearly 49.3%.

This price drop is affecting the entire sector. Overall, during the first five months of the 2024/2025 campaign, Tunisia exported 157,200 tons of olive oil, an increase of 46.3% compared to the same period the previous year. However, the global value decreased by 25.8%, confirming the direct impact of the drop in global prices.

Spain (26.9%), Italy (29.8%), and the United States (18.6%) are the main destinations for Tunisian olive oil. Specifically, for organic olive oil, Italy dominates with 60% of exported quantities, followed by Spain (20%) and the United States (11%).

It's also worth noting that Tunisian exports of organic agricultural products to 56 countries reached 22,125 tons, valued at 266.5 million dinars by the end of March 2025, according to Onagri figures. Organic olive oil accounts for 87.3% of the exported volume.
