Tunisia and South Africa Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation with a Common Roadmap for 2025-2027

Tunisia and South Africa have consolidated their bilateral cooperation by adopting a common roadmap for the period 2025-2027, focusing on scientific research, technology, and innovation.

This rapprochement was formalized on July 15, 2025, at the Tunis Science City, during the third session of the Tunisian-South African Joint Commission for Scientific and Technological Cooperation.

The flagship initiatives of this plan include the launch of joint research project calls, the creation of shared laboratories and research networks, the strengthening of intellectual property protection, technology transfer, and the establishment of joint doctoral programs.

This cooperation reflects the shared will of Tunisia and South Africa to pool their efforts in the face of shared global challenges, including climate change, health, energy, digital transformation, youth employability, and the development of scientific research on the African continent, according to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
