Tunisia Ranks 8th in the International Telecommunication Union's ICT Development Index

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has released its "Measuring digital development – ICT Development Index 2024" report, which evaluates the progress made in the development of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in 170 countries and territories worldwide. The report is based on 10 indicators, including:

  • The percentage of individuals using the internet
  • Mobile broadband penetration
  • Mobile broadband internet traffic
  • The price of mobile data and voice services
  • The rate of mobile phone ownership

In the African ranking, Libya leads the way in terms of technological development, closely followed by Morocco with a score of 86.8. The average score for Africa is 50.3 points, with a 3.7-point increase compared to the previous year, thanks to the progress made and efforts deployed by the vast majority of countries studied.
