Ministry of Finance Publishes Provisional Results of State Budget Execution for the Period Ending June 2024

The Ministry of Finance published the provisional results of the state budget execution for the period ending June 2024 on August 11. These results show a budget surplus of 488.7 million dinars (Mtnd), a significant increase compared to the surplus of 26.3 Mtnd recorded during the same period in 2023.

This improvement is mainly attributed to a 13% increase in budgetary resources, reaching 23,254.6 Mtnd. This increase is largely due to a 10.3% growth in tax revenues, which amounted to 20,870.1 Mtnd.

Meanwhile, state expenditures also increased by 8.2%, reaching 22,235.1 Mtnd. This increase is primarily linked to a rise in financing charges (+36.1%), remuneration expenses (+3.6%), and intervention expenses (+8.1%).

On the other hand, expenditures related to financial operations decreased by 21.9%, and investment expenditures slightly decreased by 0.4%, stabilizing at 1,835.6 Mtnd.

Finally, treasury resources reached 7,488.5 Mtnd during the first six months of 2024, primarily fueled by domestic and foreign loans.

These figures reflect a more solid budget management, marked by an increase in revenues and control of expenditures, despite certain increases in financing charges and interventions.
