Tunisia Ranked Among National Geographic's Top 25 Discovery Destinations
National Geographic has included Tunisia in its list of 25 top destinations for a discovery trip. The country's numerous Roman ruins were highlighted as one of its main attractions.
The amphitheater of El Jem was particularly singled out by the site as a must-visit stop during a trip to Tunisia. Also known as the Colosseum of Thysdrus, the amphitheater was built in the 3rd century and hosted gladiator battles, chariot races, and circus performances. Today, it is well-preserved and hosts a philharmonic music festival every summer.
It's worth noting that in recent years, cultural tourism has gained increasing importance as a way to diversify from beach tourism. To respond to the growing demand from tourists, it would be interesting to develop circuits that allow them to discover the country in a different way, exploring its history and culture.
