Tunisia Confirms its Scientific Radiance at the Arab Level

Tunisia has confirmed its scientific radiance at the Arab level. The Institution of Agricultural Research and Higher Education, under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources, and Fisheries, has ranked 7th at the Arab level in the SCImago ranking of research centers for the year 2025, out of a total of 317 Arab institutions evaluated.

This result is part of the 4th edition of the SCImago ranking of Arab research centers, an international reference that measures the scientific performance of institutions based on rigorous criteria, including the quality of scientific production, the impact of publications, innovation, and international visibility.

Beyond this individual distinction, Tunisia's performance stands out for its depth. Three Tunisian scientific research institutions are among the top 15 Arab research centers, which reflects the solidity of the national research ecosystem and its ability to compete with the most advanced structures in the region, particularly in the fields of agriculture, environment, and sustainable development.

The official results of the ranking were announced during a ceremony held in Egypt, as part of an international scientific partnership bringing together the Union of Arab Scientific Research Councils, Elsevier, SCImago, and the Egyptian Knowledge Bank, with the participation of representatives from several Arab countries.

The integration of the Institution of Agricultural Research and Higher Education among the top ten Arab structures consecrates years of continuous scientific work. It also reflects the quality of Tunisian research in strategic sectors related to agriculture, environment, and resource management, while highlighting the effectiveness of public policies supporting research and innovation.
