Tunisia Welcomes 2.3 Million Tourists by April 20, 2025

Tunisia has received 2.3 million tourists by April 20, 2025, marking an 8.8% increase compared to the same period in 2024, according to a statement by Mohamed Mehdi Helloui, Director-General of the Tunisian National Tourism Office, to the TAP agency.

Tourism revenues have reached 1.6 billion dinars, an increase of 85.3 million dinars. Arrivals from Europe have risen by 24.4%, while those from the Maghreb have increased by 4.6%.

The goal for 2025 is to reach 11 million tourists, following the 10.26 million recorded in 2024. To achieve this, the strategy is based on six axes: diversification, digitalization, sustainability, quality, training, and domestic tourism.

Since January, 1,500 inspections have been carried out in tourist establishments. Out of the 800 existing hotels, 670 are currently operational. In case of non-compliance, sanctions can go up to temporary closure.

Tourism contributes 4.9% to the national GDP, with a direct gross domestic product estimated at 7.3 billion dinars in 2023.
