Meeting to Monitor Progress of Ongoing Civil Building Projects

A working session was held on December 10, 2024, under the presidency of the Minister of Equipment and Housing, to follow up on the progress of ongoing civil building projects.

The meeting, attended by ministry officials and project managers, highlighted 20 projects in the study phase, representing a total investment of 1.5 billion dinars, as well as 39 projects in the bidding or implementation phase, with a total value of 625 million dinars.

Discussions focused on the obstacles encountered, including difficulties related to administrative procedures and public procurement. These challenges are slowing down the progress of certain projects, particularly those related to hospital infrastructure.

The Minister emphasized the need for daily monitoring on the ground to accelerate the execution of works, ensure their completion within the set deadlines, and guarantee their quality.

She also stressed the importance of applying administrative and legal measures against anyone responsible for delays in public projects, particularly those affecting healthcare facilities, thereby depriving citizens of their fundamental rights, such as access to care.

It is worth noting that no compromise will be accepted for those who delay projects and prevent Tunisians from benefiting from essential services.
