Tunisian Farmers Can Now Spread Electricity and Gas Bill Debts Over 7 Years
Tunisian farmers subscribed to the low-voltage network and enjoying the irrigation pumping tariff can spread their electricity and gas bill debts over a period of up to seven years, the STEG (Tunisian Company of Electricity and Gas) has announced.
This exceptional measure, which falls within the framework of the President of the Republic's instructions to support clients in difficulty, aims to expand the circle of beneficiaries of the payment facilities put in place over the past few months.
Those wishing to benefit from this measure must submit a written request to the STEG district they fall under. It is worth noting that the operation will start on May 19, 2025, and will continue until September 1, 2025.
The objective of this initiative is to enable farmers, often affected by drought and rising costs, to regularize their situation without putting their activity at risk.
