Nigerian Startup Tespire Secures Funding from Alternative Bank to Develop Asibiti Health Research Project
Tespire, a Nigerian company, has received funding from Alternative Bank to develop its Asibiti health research project, which aims to address one of the major hurdles in the Nigerian healthcare system.
Founded in 2022 in northern Nigeria by Abdulkadir Suleiman Lapai and Umar Madugu, Tespire initially designed digital infrastructure to support schools through tools such as tablets and internet connectivity, with the goal of simplifying administrative management.
After a pre-seed funding round, the amount of which was not disclosed, the startup diversified into the healthcare sector and concluded a memorandum of understanding with Alternative Bank last year.
This new funding will support the Asibiti project, focused on health research. Following initial experiments conducted in public hospitals in Niger State, which highlighted a genuine need for modernization, Tespire designed the Asibiti box: a connected device integrated into its management systems.
The investment will ensure the daily operations of the project. Additionally, Tespire plans to extend Asibiti to private healthcare facilities and launch a feature designed to facilitate expansion.
