National Water Distribution Company Announces Temporary Water Supply Disruption in Greater Tunis
The National Water Distribution Company (Sonede) informs its customers of a temporary interruption in the supply of potable water in the governorates of Greater Tunis.
This disruption is due to a sudden failure of the central electrical transformer at the Ghdir El Golla raw water pumping station.
Water cuts will begin at 15:00 on Monday, July 21, 2025.
The gradual resumption of water distribution is expected after the completion of the repair work, around midnight tonight.
The entire technical team of the company has been mobilized, with the support of the Tunisian Electricity and Gas Company (STEG) and the Civil Protection services, to remedy this failure and restore the pumping station to normal service.
Sonede reports that the intervention to extinguish the fire was carried out successfully.
