Jendouba Regional Transport Company (SRTJ) Posts Net Profit of 1.418 MTND in 2022

The Jendouba Regional Transport Company (SRTJ) has published its financial statements for the 2022 fiscal year, achieving a net profit of 1.418 million Tunisian dinars (MTND), a significant improvement from the previous year's loss of 0.132 MTND.

This positive performance would not have been possible without the support of the State. The company's revenue reached 8.316 MTND, a 29.3% increase from the previous year. Additionally, the operating subsidy of 15.803 MTND enabled the company to achieve an operating revenue of 24.251 MTND by the end of 2022, compared to 19.699 MTND in 2021.

Operating expenses totaled 22.321 MTND, a 13.3% increase from 2021. All expense items increased, with personnel expenses accounting for 55.6% of total expenses. Financial charges stood at 0.307 MTND, a 37.8% decrease from the previous year.

The company boasts healthy equity of 4.320 MTND, with no prior losses. The financial statements were certified with reservations by the auditor due to deficiencies in inventory management and asset evaluation applications, as well as the lack of a real inventory of fixed assets. The company was also subject to an in-depth tax audit covering the period from 2019 to 2022, with the administration claiming 0.636 MTND from the company, which the company has contested.

Overall, the SRTJ's situation is significantly better than its counterparts in other regions, serving as a model to follow.
