Ministry of Health Announces Construction of Two New Hospitals in Sbiba and El Jem

The Ministry of Health has announced the construction of two new hospitals in Sbiba and El Jem, with a total budget of 116 million Tunisian dinars (MTND). The financing for the project has been secured from Saudi Arabia, specifically from the Saudi Fund for Development. The two establishments will cover an area of 11,000 square meters and have a capacity of 105 beds, significantly improving access to healthcare for the inhabitants of these regions and neighboring areas. The pressure on university hospitals will also be alleviated, allowing for better care conditions and faster treatment for patients.

The contractor selected for the project is Société Bouzguenda Frères (SBF). The project is expected to last 20 months, a relatively short period for a project of this nature, aligning with international standards. The group possesses the necessary human and technical expertise to deliver modern and high-performance hospitals equipped with the latest medical technologies.

SBF has already completed a long list of reference projects in Tunisia, including the combined-cycle power plant in Radès, the Jebel El Oust ceramic factory, the Sidi Bouzid dairy plant, the Azur City center, the seawater desalination station in Djerba, the Tunis Culture City, the National Library, the Radès Olympic Stadium, and the US Embassy in Tunis. In the healthcare sector, the company has ensured the construction of the Amen Clinic in Bizerte and Nabeul.

This project is expected to have a significant impact on the healthcare system in Tunisia, providing better access to quality healthcare services for the population.
